FOX13 Weather App

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

Thank you for your interest in the FOX13 Weather App and our website, operated by Standard Media Group LLC (“we,” “us”). We respect your privacy when you use our websites, mobile and other online applications, and services (together, the “Services”). This policy describes the personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and your choices. By using the Services, you consent to the use of your information as described here, including communications to the email address you provide. It does not apply to information you give us offline.

We may update this policy and will revise the “Last updated” date when we do. Please review it periodically.

1. Information We Collect About You

We collect these categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, address, email, phone number, IP address, cookies and similar identifiers); personal records; characteristics (such as age and other demographic data); customer account and commercial information; online usage information such as browsing history and interaction with our apps and ads; geolocation data; sensory information such as audio recordings of customer service calls; and inferences drawn from this information, such as interests and preferences.

2. How We Collect Information About You

Information you provide

When you register, create an account, purchase products or services, express interests, join chats or forums, subscribe to newsletters, give feedback, or enter surveys, sweepstakes or promotions, we may collect details such as your name, email, age, zip code, login credentials and payment information. Content you post publicly (“User Contributions”) may be viewed by others, and we cannot control how they use it.

Information collected automatically

We collect device and connection details (device type, browser, operating system, IP address, device identifiers, carrier), visit details (dates, pages viewed, referring sites, email opens and link clicks), and location information precise enough to locate a device. You can opt out of location use in your device settings. We use cookies, local shared objects (Flash cookies) and web beacons. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working.

Advertising networks

We may work with ad networks to show interest-based advertising across sites, devices and apps. We do not give an ad network information that directly identifies you, such as your name or address.

Third parties

Advertisers, analytics tools, content providers and social networks may use their own tracking technologies and may collect information about your activity over time and across services. We do not control these technologies. If you log in with a social network, we may collect information from that account.

3. How We May Use the Information We Collect

We may combine information you give us with information from other sources and information collected automatically.

4. Information We Share

We may share aggregated information that does not identify you. We may sell or share personal information with our affiliates; contractors and service providers; co-sponsors of promotions you enter; recipients you choose (for example, an “email a friend” feature); advertisers and partners with your permission; a successor in a merger, sale or reorganization; and others with your consent.

We may also disclose information to comply with a court order, law or legal process, to enforce our agreements, and to protect the rights, property or safety of our company, customers or others, including for fraud prevention.

5. Your Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

Registration and SMS alerts. You may choose not to provide personal information, although this may limit some features. To deactivate your account, email us. Unsubscribe from SMS alerts separately by replying “STOP.”

Emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

Cookies and similar technologies. Adjust your browser settings to refuse or be alerted about cookies. Disabling these technologies or location services may stop some features from working.

Third-party communications. If you submitted information through a service provider, you may need to contact that provider separately to opt out. Their privacy policies govern their use of your data.

Interest-based ads. You can opt out of targeted advertising by many companies at aboutads.info/choices and networkadvertising.org. You will still see ads, but they will not be tailored to your interests.

6. Access and Corrections

If you have an account, you can sign in to update the information you provided. If you delete your User Contributions, copies may remain in cached or archived pages or may have been copied by other users.

7. Links and Other Third Party Services

Our apps and sites may link to services we do not operate, and may include social media widgets that let those networks collect information about you. We are not responsible for their content or practices; please review their privacy policies.

8. How We Protect Personal Information

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, personnel and physical safeguards against loss, theft and unauthorized use, disclosure or modification, and we encrypt payment transactions. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Safeguarding Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, not sharing it, and for all activity under your account.

10. Your California Privacy Rights

California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources, purposes and recipients; request deletion of their personal information, subject to legal exceptions; and opt out of the sale of personal information. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights, and we do not offer financial incentive programs. Email news@fox23memphis.com to make a request. We will acknowledge it within 10 business days and aim to respond within 45 days. We must verify your identity by matching information you provide to our records. An authorized agent may submit a request with proof of your designation.

11. Additional California Disclosures

Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California users may ask whether we have disclosed certain information to third parties for their direct marketing. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, as there is no commonly accepted standard.

12. Children Under Thirteen

Our apps and sites are not directed to anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are under 13, do not provide us any personal information.
